Adrian Foster

Bass Guitar

Adrian's musical career started in '70s Cambridge where, as a founder member of legendary rock band Ducks on the Wall Gang, he played a mixture of blues, funk and R&B standards. During that period, the Ducks shared drummers with stable-mates Robyn Hitchcock & the Soft Boys and also toured with The Waves (latterly Katrina & the Waves).

After the Ducks disbanded in the early '80s, he headed for London where he recorded and toured with New Wave band The Containers, fronted by vocalist Stella Barker of Belle Stars fame.

He was invited to join '50s-60s revival band Highly Strung in 1999, with whom he remained until the group disbanded in 2011.

During this time, Adrian was invited to join the Hertford-based power-pop covers band The Rivals (née Someday Someway) and has recently teamed up with Rivals' lead guitarist Paul Smedley to form Red Town.

Adrian's equipment includes a Fender Jazz bass (1973) and a Fender Precision bass (1998), recently augmented with a Rickenbacker 4001 Stereo bass (1974), through a Trace Elliot 715 SMC bass amplifier with a Telling extension speaker cabinet.
